Small box automatic warehouse
The automated low-load warehouse, often known as AKL or mini-load, is a widely recognized type of automated warehouse. The term AKL comes from the German term "automatisches kleinteilelager", which has become a standard term in the logistics industry.
In previous warehouses, the mini-load system was generally used, which is known for its high degree of dynamism and efficient use of space. Its large capacity and scalability make it an ideal choice for warehouse operations. In the case of automated small warehouses (AS/RS), incoming goods are usually stored in back warehouses, where they are loaded in a controlled manner under software control. In these warehouses, EURO boxes are typically placed on the racks, which can be customized with different shelf heights depending on the type of product or item to be stored. For products that require special handling or storage due to their size or value, it is possible to divide the crates. In some cases, custom-designed containers may be required to fit products in the right size. Accordingly, the design of the storage compartments and the load-bearing unit of the equipment, as well as the subsequent handling of the material, can be customized.
Of course, thanks to technological development, in addition to the above solution, countless other technologies have appeared, and automated warehouse solutions can be tailored even more to serve customer needs with the most suitable technology.
